Payment ProtectionEvery year, thousands of people find themselves without an income due to illness, accident or unemployment. Keeping up loan repayments in these circumstances can prove impossible. That's why Woolwich.co.uk always recommend that you have Payment Protection Insurance so that you know your loan repayments will be covered if the worst happens: If you're unable to work due to sickness or accident for 14 days or more, your repayments may be covered until the end of the loan term or you return to work, whichever is the sooner. If you lose your job and are still unemployed after 14 days, your repayments may be covered until you find a new job, for up to a maximum of 12 monthly payments. The outstanding balance of your loan will be repaid if you die or if you are permanently totally disabled or are diagnosed as suffering from one of the specified critical illnesses. Payment Protection Insurance is available as long as you are aged over 18 and under 70 and are resident in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man.
